Grout for Art
Starlike Crystal Mosaic Grout is made with tiny, hollow glass beads that reflect and refract light mimicking the tile colors around it.
Specialized grout can sometimes be required by Artists when doing 3D Mosaics or other indoor or outdoor mosaic projects. One such project happened when the St. Regis, a 5-Star Luxury Hotel in Atlanta’s prestigious Buckhead neighborhood, underwent property-wide renovations for it’s 10th Anniversary.
Klimt Mosaic Installation
The project included a new outdoor garden terrace called The Garden Room. A hand-cut, glass tile mosaic of Gustav Klimt’s Portrait of Ria Munk III is a striking part of the space.The piece, commissioned from SICIS: The Art Mosaic Factory by The Johnson Studio, arrived from Italy requiring assembly.The mosaic was hung using Litokol’s Litoelastic Adhesive.
The installed mosaic was grouted using Litokol’s Starlike Crystal translucent mosaic grout. Starlike is a translucent grout made with tiny, hollow glass beads that reflect and refract light. This creates a chameleon effect because the grout assumes the colors of the tile around it. This neutral translucent look eliminates the need for colored grout.
